Bio

Mildred Phillips Brown, 100, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in Arlington. Graveside service: Thursday in Childress Cemetery, Childress. she was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Quanah to Jessie and Mary Creamer Phillips. She was a college graduate and was a former employee of the Childress County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office and First National Bank. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Childress, where she served as treasurer, and was also a member of the Woman's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Brown. Survivors: Niece, Beth LaVallee and husband, Bill; great-niece, Kandise Davidson and her children, Adam and Kaycee; and great-nephew, Chris LaVallee.
