William Henry Bell was born in Missouri on February 2, 1861 to Samuel G. Bell , 1825 Virginia, and Mary Johnson Bell , 1842 West Virginia. He was eldest of their five children. Names and birth order are: 1. (William Henry Bell, b: February 2, 1861 in Missouri) 2. Nannie Elizabeth Bell , b: June 8, 1863 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Missouri 3. Ella M. Bell, b: 1865 in Kirkville, Adair County, Missouri 4. James Lucien Bell , b: Feb 22, 1867 in Kirkville, Adair County, Missouri 5. Lydia J. Bell, b: 1872 in Kirkville, Adair County, Missouri William married Carrie Cynthia Foster, 1859 Missouri, daughter of William Alexander Foster, 1830 North Carolina and Martha A. King, 1832 Tennessee. One daughter was born to them. 1. Oble Chloe Bell, b: August 18, 1887 in Coleman, Coleman County, Texas Cynthia died on January 26, 1897 in Coleman, Coleman County, Texas. In 1898 William married Luella Hampton Henderson of Waxahachie and three children were born to them. 1. Willie Bell, b: August 13, 1899 in Coleman, Coleman County, Texas 2. Lucille Bell, b: June 11, 1901 in Coleman, Coleman County, Texas 3. Janelle Bell, b: 1904 in Coleman, Coleman County, Texas Luella died on April 19, 1932 and according to her original death certificate was to have been buried in Beeville Memorial Park, Beeville, Bee County, Texas.
