s/o Anthony Lindsay Applegate / Elizabeth Basham Miller Pioneer of OR Trail During the trip down the rapids of the Columbia River, the boat carrying William Glenn Parker his nephew Edward Bates Applegate , Edward's cousin Warren Applegate, and family friend Alexander "Uncle Mac" McClellen , capsized in the rapids near The Dalles. William was able to swim to safety, the other's drowned and their bodies were never found. ref: OR Pioneers
