Mary "Nena" Woodard, 72, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Cemetery. Mary was born in Mount Calm, Texas, to the late Walter Elmo and Alta Mae (Muscik) Harris. She was raised in the Rice and Ennis Area. Mary was an inspiration to every life she touched, whether it be in the 15 years of service with the IOOF Nursing Home or the 26 years with Mary's Cleaning Service. Nena was such a sweet, caring woman that possessed a deep love for her friends and lived entirely for her family. She was a kind, selfless person who fought each battle in her life in order to be here for her grandkids and great-grandchildren. Nena recently celebrated 13 years of a double lung transplant on January 5, 2014. She was preceded in death by son, Randy Woodard; sisters, Mae Dale Marks and Katherine Rager; brother, Jo Foster; and son-in-law, Carl Butler. Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Woodard; daughter, Monica Butler; grandchildren: Nathan Woodard, Conner and Magen Butler, and T.J. and Cody Schilling; great-grandchildren: Colt, Eli and Cayden Schilling, Brady Sparkman; along with several nieces and nephews.
