From the Houston Chronicle , Monday, December 22, 2008: ANNA LOUISE PONCIK SCHANZ, 71, of Katy, Texas, died on Friday, December 19, 2008. She was born on August 8, 1937, in Rosenberg, Texas, to Louis and Annie Schmidt Poncik. Anna is survived by husband: Richard K. Schanz, children: Carl Schanz, Cathey and Dan Woodward, Mike and Kathy Schanz, Debbie and Buddy Lyles; grandchildren: Jason, Blake, Adam, Jillian, Liza, Toni, Tori and Teri. Visitation and Viewing will be at 9:30am, Rosary at 10:45am, followed by an 11:00am Mass and Reception on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Saint Edith Stein Catholic Church, 3311 N. Fry Rd., Katy, Tx 77449, 281-492-7500. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The American Lung Association.
