Leroy Copeland Born in Whitney, Texas on Dec. 4, 1913 Departed on Oct. 21, 2005 and resided in Hurst, TX. Visitation: Saturday Oct. 29, 2005 Service: Saturday Oct. 29, 2005 Cemetery: Bethlehem Cemetery Leroy Copeland of Hurst, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on October 21, 2005. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Doris. She passed away May 7, 2005. He was born December 4, 1913 in Whitney, Texas to the late Samuel S. Copeland and Frances Henrietta Bennett. He is survived by his daughter, Martha Delores Dodge of Hillsboro; step-children, Charles Woolsey and wife, Mary Lu, of Brunswick, MD, Wayne Woolsey and wife, Karyl, of Pollock Pines, CA, Marilyn Gilbert and husband, Gary, of Lakeside, CA; four sisters, Mary Ellen Woodley of Dallas, Sammie Young of Hillsboro, Ruth Parker of Roby, and Nell Ashley of Rowlett; 5 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his two brothers, Jesse Ray “Dick” and Dan Moody Copeland; half-brothers, Ed Fowler, Bill Fowler, Willie Copeland, Earl Copeland, Charlie Copeland; and half-sisters, Thelma Fowler, Ethel Harber, Pearl Fowler and Lola Reaves. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Hurst Lodge #1387 A.F. & A.M. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die we belong to the Lord. Romans 14:8
