From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram , Thursday, February 28, 1918, p. 9: Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Bunch of 1204 College avenue announce the marriage of their daughter, Alba Louise Holden, to Mr. Donald J. Wells, Saturday, Feb. 23, at their home. Rev. H. B. Thompson of the First Methodist Church officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Wells will be at home after March 1 at 2609 Hemphill street. From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram , Monday, February 26, 1968, p. 3B: Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Wells of 1311 7th Ave. were honored with a surprise party Friday in the Gold Room of the Worth Hotel commemorating their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Ledron of Mitchell-Saxon Road, Mr. and Mrs. T. Leonard Smith of 3909 Walton and Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Wells Jr. of 3608 Brighton Road. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Wells of Houston were special guests at the dinner honoring his brother and sister-in-law. Mrs. Wells is the former Miss Alba Louise Holden. Her husband has been in the marble and monument business here for more than 50 years. His father founded the Wells Marble and Granite Co. They have two daughters, Mrs. Leddon and Mrs. Smith; a son, James Donald Jr., seven grandchildren and one great-grandson, Richard Lee Leddon III of Roanoke, Va. From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram , Friday, April 5, 1985, p. 2B: Alba Louise Wells, 84, passed away after a long illness Wednesday. Born & lived all of her 84 years in Fort Worth. Survivors: Son, J. D. Wells Jr., Fort Worth; daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Leddon, Fort Worth, Mrs. Donalea Smith, Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Graveside services 10 a.m. Friday Greenwood Memorial Park. Rev. Melvin Prather officiating. Arrangements Greenwood.
