OBITUARY FOR SUSAN "ANNA" HERBERT -------- Susan Anna Dinnel, daughter of William and Susan Dinnel was born at Jamesport, Mo., Apr. 30, 1869 and died July 19, 1955 at the Barnes Nursing Home at Wauneta at the age of 86 yrs., 2 mo., and 19 days. She was united in marriage Nov. 7, 1887 in Hayes Center, Nebraska to Thomas Herbert. To this union were born ten children. Three of these children and her husband preceded her in death. Those left to mourn her passing are three sons, Charles, of Palisade; Thomas of Forest Grove, Ore.; Elmer of McCook. Daughters Bertha Hahn and Daisy England of Denver, Susie Einspahr of Wauneta, Goldie Ferry of Wenatchee, Wash. Thirty six grandchildren, sixty eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also, one sister, Ella Terry of Wauneta, two brothers George Dinnel of Hastings and William Dinnel of Palisade. Anna Herbert was baptized into the Church of Christ in 1887. She has lived in McCook for the past 38 years. Services were held at 10 o'clock, Fri., July 22 at the Church of Christ in Palisade, with Tom Selva of Stratton and Bill Lemons of McCook in charge. Pallbearers were: Dick Hahn, Richard and Don Einspahr, Irvin Herbert, Merle Herbert and Vern Herbert, grandsons of the deceased. Burial was made at the Palisade Cemetery with Johnson's of Wauneta in charge.
