Bio
Lorene Armer, 90, of McAlester, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Walnut Grove Living Center. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Steve Mayhew officiating. Interment will be at Hanna Cemetery in Hanna, Oklahoma. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Born October 6, 1923 in Hanna, she was a daughter to Frank and Cassie (Mosley) Janeway. She married Joe Armer in 1940 at Hanna, Oklahoma. She worked at Hanna Public School as a cook retiring in 1986. She moved from Hanna to Krebs in 1988 to be closer to family. Lorene loved to cook from scratch, quilt, sew, play games and garden. She was a member of Higher Praise Church in McAlester. Survivors include her daughters: Gloria Davis of Krebs, Linda Frye and husband, Duane of McAlester, Nancy Whisenhunt and husband, Gene of McAlester; son: Gilbert Armer and wife, Shelia of Krebs; daughter-in-law: Beth Armer of Crescent; grandchildren: Brent Armer and wife, Stephanie, Kevin Armer and wife, Tammie, April Brown and husband, Todd, Kim Adcock and husband, John, Karmen Newman and husband, Allen, Anthony Armer, Heather St. John and husband, Joe, K.J. Burks and wife, Cher; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister: Francis Blackburn of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Cassie Janeway; her husband: Joe Armer in 1973; son: Murrel Armer; son-in-law: Gayle Burks; brother: Wade Henry; sisters: Gladys Martin, Blanche White, Hazel Sorrels, and Wanda Grant. Pallbearers will be Anthony Armer, K.J. Burks, Kevin Armer, Brent Armer, John Adcock, and Jaime Domingues. Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny White and Dan Ervin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
