TIMKEN - Mary Ann Nather, 73, died December 20 at Rush County Nursing Home in La Crosse. She was born July 25, 1928, in La Crosse, the daughter of Charles and Marie Oborny. She married Edward Nather August 27, 1947, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Timken. He died December 16, 1979. A lifelong resident of Rush County, she was a homemaker and worked at Rush County Nursing Home before she retired. Mrs. Nather was a member of the church and St. Ann's Altar Society, both of Timken. Survivors include two sons, Edward Nather Jr. of Hutchinson and Paul Nather of Timken; two daughters, Annie Pechanec of Hays and Linda Hampton of Larned; three brothers, Charles Oborny of La Crosse, Leonard Oborny of Rush Center and Larry Oborny of Hazard, Neb.; a sister, Betty Skillet of Hays; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Oborny and Louis Oborny; and a sister, Agnes Pechanec. Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday at Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse.
