Mrs. Rose Shearer, Pioneer, Dead at 82 Mrs. Rose (Scott) Shearer, 82, widow of the late William S. Shearer, one of Lewiston Orchards pioneer residents, died t 3:45 yesterday afternoon at Somerville Home. Deat was attributed to the infirmities of age. Mrs. Shearer was born Feb. 17, 1870, in California, Mo., and was married to William S. Shearer, Aug. 9, 1890. After living in Des Moines, Iowa, and Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Sheaarer came to Lewiston in 1910. Her husband helped in the early day development of the Lewiston Orchards, serving in the Orchards Assembly and Growers' Association. Mrs. Shearer was an active member of the First Christian Church. For many years she taught the Loyal Mtrons Sunday School class and she served as executive secretary of the Inland Empire Missionary Association of the Christian Church.
