Bio
OBIT: A resident of Kittitas County for 25 years, Mrs. Phoebe Looney McCurdy, 70, died here Monday morning after a week's illness. Mrs. Mccurdy was born December 7, 1866 in Rogersville, Tenn., and was married to John Looney on June 10, 1888. They moved to Ellensburg in 1910. Mr. Looney was married on August 30, 1935 to Jim McCurdy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ernie McEwen and Mrs. Bert Godbey of Ellensburg; four sons, Ralph and Clarence Looney of Ellensburg, Ray Looney of Hazelton, Idaho and Max Looney of Wenatchee; ten grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Julia Harrell, Thorp; Abe Derrick, Ellensburg; D. E. Derrick, Hiawatha, Kansas; A. J. Derrick, White Cloud, Kansas; A. J. Derrick, White Cloud, Kansas, and Mrs. T. O. Barrett, Centralia, Kansas. Funeral services were held yesterday in Honeycutt's Chapel. Burial was made in the IOOF Cemetery. The Ellensburg Capital, October 1, 1937
