Herald Coaster, December 18, 2000: Funeral services for Dorothy Vacek Sury of Needville were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father James Ramsey will officiate the services. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Davis Chapel in Needville, 9302 Church St. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Davis Chapel in Needville. Dorothy was born Dec. 29, 1901 in New York to Joe Vacek and Anna Schulbar. She passed away Dec. 17, 2000 in Needville. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Sury and Loretta Sury, and her son-in-law, Nelson Kramer. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Vlasta Kramer of Needville; sister-in-law, Judith Kenney of Needville; grandchildren, Gary Kramer and his wife, Linda, of Crystal Beach, Texas, and Sandra Kramer of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Kevin Kramer and his wife, Shannon, of Houston, and Amy Dauhereau and her husband, Paul. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. (281) 341-8800.
