Bio

Oreta Fearl "RETA' Sage, of Dalton went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Morningside Assisted Living Center surrounded by her family. Oreta was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone. She was born October 18, 1924, to James "Watt" Waston and Julia Ida (Darter) Tate in Coleman, Oklahoma. She married Willie Albert (Big Bill) Sage on August 23, 1942, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death September 12, 1998. She attended Gracemont School in Gracemont, Oklahoma and completed her education at Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She was a foster care provider for 39 children. She enjoyed teaching her Sunday School Class, crocheting, working in her garden and canning her tomatoes and blackeyed peas. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko, Oklahoma for 55 years until moving to Rocky Face, Georgia where she joined the Westside Baptist Church. She is survived by one son and his wife, Willie (Bill) and Mildred Sage of Rocky Face; one daughter in law and husband, Gloria (Sage) and Dennis Dyer of Carnegie, Oklahoma; one brother Albert Gerald and his wife Donna; nine grandchildren, Bobby Sage and wife, Gail, Clifton and wife, Elaine Sage, Tommy Sage, David and Debbie Sage, John and Kristy Sage; 17 Great Grandchildren: Meagan Sage, Phillip Lemons, Kimberly Lemons, Billy Joe Sage, Justin Sage, Kyle Sage, Amelia Sage, Amber Morales, Drew Sage, Heath Sage, Devin Sage, Shelby Sage, Ashlyn Sage, Tate Sage, Ethan Sage, Kyndall Sage, Keityn Sage; 7 Great Great Grandchildren: Nadine Sage, Miley Sage, Carson Sage, Kamden Sage, Autumn Lemons, Joseph Lemons, Willow Lemons. She was preceded in death by her parents; James (Watt) Watson and Julia Ida Tate; her husband Willie (big Bill) Albert Sage; one son Curtis Wayne Sage; brothers, Floyd Tate, Orville Tate, Walter Tate, Kenneth Tate; Winfred Walton Tate sisters, Lona Shanks, Della V. Woods, A Celebration of Life will be held in the Smith's Funeral Home in Anadarko, Okla., at 10;00 A. M. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Pastor Jerry Winfred Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home
