Bio

Benjamin F. Marlar, aged 94 years, 7 months and 2 days, died last Thursday at his home, three miles south of town. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, Rev. J. R. Hankins officiating, and burial being in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Marlar was born in McMinn county, Tennessee, March 14, 1822. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Humphrey, who died many years ago. To this union were born ten children, two of who died in infancy and one at the age of 21. The surviving children are: W. O. Marlar, Payette, Idaho; J. R. Marlar, Osborne, Kas.; L. S. Marlar, who lived with his father; Angeline Goldesberry, south of town; Dora Calvert, Madison, Kas.; Sarah Carrico, Irving, Kas. He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
