Bio
The youngest of two sons born to Albert and Johanna (Rau) Raffl of Red Bud, Illinois, Claude was a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Medicine. At the time of his marriage Dr. Raffl was practicing at Estes Park, Colorado, but shortly moved to Basin, Wyoming. The only physician there, he had been a resident of Basin for 15 years at the time of his death due to an auto accident. Returning from a hunting trip with companions, he was a passenger in their car when it hit an icy patch on US Hwy 20, about 18 miles west of Graybull, Wyoming. The vehicle spun off the road and down an embankment, killing him. Dr. Raffl was survived by his wife, a daughter, and a son. Bio courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor #47677119
