Son of David William Campbell and Elizabeth Ann Butler Married Lillie May Heaps, 26 Jun 1897, Escalante, Garfield, Utah Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 11, for Mr. George Campbell, 81, who died of a heart ailment Sunday at a Rest Home in St. George. Bishop Doyle Cottam presided over the following services: Song, "Beautiful Home", by Singing Mothers; Invocation, W. R. Barker; Talk, William Mitchell; Organ solo, Janet G. Griffin; Talk, W. R. Barker; Song by a niece from Circleville, Nola Whittaker, accompanied by her daughter; Talk, President Clyde Spencer; Remarks, Bishop Doyle Cottam: song, "Beyond The Hilltops", Singing Mothers, directed by Rhoda Bench, accompanied by Areola Gates; Benediction by Mike Schow. The grave was dedicated by Ray Griffin. Mr. Campbell was born on Feb. 25. 1876 in Panguitch to David C. and Elizabeth Butler Campbell. A livestockman and farmer, he lived in Escalante until three years ago when he went to St. George. He served as a community undertaker in the Escalante area many years ago. Surviving are a son Clawson of Joseph, a daughter Mrs. Layton (LaRue) Griffin of Escalante: 2 grandchildren. Published in the Garfield County News 1957-09-19
