☆～ VETERAN, WORLD WAR II (1939-1945) ～☆ George J. Behne, formerly of Brainard, Nebraska passed away on October 7, 2013, in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. George was born near Brainard, Nebraska on April 22, 1925 to George and Mary (Liska) Behne. George attended school at district #78 and graduated from Dwight (NE.) High School in 1942. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. For 42 years, George was employed by the Federal Government as a Personnel and Financial Administrator. After 11 years in Japan, he was transferred to Fort Shafter, Hawaii. George is survived by: wife: Doris Chun-Behne; brothers and sister-in-laws: Donald and Martha (Zavodny) Behne of Brainard, Nebraska, Dean Behne of DeWitt, Nebraska and Genevieve (Vrbka) Behne of Brainard, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. George was preceded in death by: parents; brother, Ernest Behne and sister-in-law, Mavis (Synovec) Behne. Burial was in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Butler County, Nebraska.
