Herald Coaster, September 19, 1986: Funeral services for Johnnie L. Mikel, 59, of Guy will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville. Officiating the service will be Rev. Richard Avery, with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Mikel died Wednesday at Polly Ryon Hospital in Richmond. He was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville. He was a lifelong resident of Guy and a veteran of WWII while serving with the Merchant Marines. Survivors include wife, Dorothy Mikel of Guy; daughters, Coleen Wray of Needville, Karren Jedlicka of Sherman and Cheri Jablonski of Guy; sisters, Josie Jakubec and Marie Noles of Damon, Annie Jakubec of West Columbia and Della Dodds of Brazoria; son Kenny Mikel of Needville; brothers, Ernest Mikel of West Columbia and Joe E. Mikel of Brazoria; and five grandchildren. Friends may call at the Garmany & Carden Chapel in Needville. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville.
