The body was donated to science. He died Monday, May 14, 2001. He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Sudan and married Nancy Sandefur on Dec. 24, 1976, in Lubbock. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. He was owner and operator of Glenn's Diesel Repair until retiring in 1994. He then began working part-time at Acme Electric. He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jake of Amarillo and Herb and Chuck, both of Lubbock; three daughters, Linda Thompson of Austin, Wilma Scott of Minco, Okla., and Glenda Rankin of Detroit, Mich.; four stepdaughters, Sandra Ryan and Karen Smith, both of Lubbock, Judy Buchanan of Plainview and Cindy Richan of Windsor, Colo.; four brothers, Rudolph of Miami, James and Wayne, both of Canadian and Jay of Woodward, Okla.; five sisters, JoNell Lynskey, Nina Smith and Lola Beth Reed, all of Olton, Louise Wuthrich of Smyer and Lillie McCoy of Spade; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Glenn's first wife Elizabeth (Liz) (nee Zeiglen) Rankin was a young German lady. She passed away at age 49 from cancer in 1976.
