Biographical information provided by FAG Contributor #46981928 Brecheen, William Curtis Marriage: 08/08/1885 Cemetery: Evergreen (19-43-04) Record Source: The Paris News THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, January 10, 1930: 'Funeral services for William Curtis Brecheen of Howland, who died at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ, conducted by Robert Cook and W. M. Davis, and burial will be at Evergreen cemetery. The pallbearers will be Judge Matthews, Elmer Bolton, W. L. Rea, Ira Maddox, Frank James. Al Shew, John Chance and Dan Shew. Mr. Brecheen was born February 24, (sic) 1851, in Tennessee, and came to Texas in 1870. He was twice married, first to Miss Annie Halliburton, who died in 1872, and again in 1886 (sic) to Mrs. Sarah E. Davis, who survives him. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters and the following children and step-children; J. L.? Brecheen of Long Mott; Mrs. Ed Williams of Hollister, Okla.; R. E. Brecheen of Paris; W. H. and Lemuel Brecheen of Dalhart; Mrs. Otis Brazeal of Midway; Mrs. W. C. Connor of Dallas; Henry Davis of Paris, and Mrs. O. A. Strickland of Detroit. He was a member of the Church of Christ for nearly 60 years, and of the Masonic order for more than 40 years.' Information from Pedigree Chart of Duane E. Brecheen, 7 Apr 1996, 44125 Villeta Dr., LaQuinta, CA, 92253: William was born in Nashville, TN the son of Josiah Brecheen and Nancy Tennessee Walker Brecheen. He married 8 Aug 1885 to Sarah Elizabeth Wilkerson in Atlas, Lamar County. Their son was Lemuel Brecheen who married Genie Evelyn Jones. William died in Atlas and is on the same stone with Sarah E. Brecheen. THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 9 Jan 1930 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: 'W. C. Breckeen, lifelong resident of Howland, died Wednesday afternoon.'
