Bio

His name has been shown on numerous documents with the initials W. and H., but never at the same time. Per his obituary, he was buried in the vicinity of Fort Towson, Oklahoma. He was living there with his son George at the time of his death. I visited several cemeteries in the Fort Towson area and could not locate his grave. George Rains and Elizabeth Lentz were married 2 April, 1845 in Monroe County, Indiana. 10 children were known to be born to this union. George married again to Rachel P. Fisher 26 July, 1873 in Collin County, Texas. 1 child was known to be born to this union.
