DESSIE DELANA HOGAN ROPER 96, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away October 22, 2018 with the loving presence of grandchildren Janette and Kelly by her side. She was born in Bethel, Oklahoma to parents Robert and Omelia Hogan in 1922. Dessie was the youngest of 5 children. She married Harley (Dick) Roper in Neshoba, Oklahoma on October 2, 1940. They had three boys Robert Sid, Sonja Doyle and Shelby Roper. Dessie was preceded in death by her husband Harley (Dick) Roper on November 30, 1995; two sons Robert Sid on July 22, 1976 and Sonja Doyle on August 29, 2018. Survivors include 1 son; 5 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. They moved to Roseburg in 1948 by way of Lakeview, Oregon and California. Dessie worked in the food service industry for many years in Roseburg. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting with her husband and family. Dessie loved her yard and had many flowers, bowled on a team and was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed her many family and friends at Roseburg Senior Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses.
