Bio

Louis A. Sisel, 90, of Lincoln, died August 3, 2013. Louis went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his wife & children. Louis was born to John & Mary (Divis) Sisel and grew up on the family farm near Dwight, NE. Louis married Lucille (Foral) Sisel January 21, 1947 in Brainard, NE at the Holy Trinity Church. Louis and Lucille started out farming in the Bruno-Brainard area. In 1956 the family moved to Lincoln where Louis went to work for the Lincoln Public Schools and retired in 1985 after 25 years. After retiring Louis' favorite pastime was working on small engines and going to the local car races. Louis is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucille of Lincoln; children, Lucille (Charles) Baker of Lincoln, Louise (Michael) Johnson of Lincoln, Kenneth (Darla) Sisel of Gillette, WY, Dwayne (Cheryl) Sisel of Lincoln, Dianne (Dale, Jr.) Etmund of Lincoln, Dale (Marcene) Sisel of Gillette, WY, Kay (Darrell) Keating of Lincoln; twenty one grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard (Edith) Sisel of Dwight; sisters, Gladys Jakub of Lincoln, Irene (James) Vrbka of Bossier City, LA; sister-in-law, Sally Sisel of Dwight, NE. Preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Louis, Jr.; brother, Ray Sisel; sister, Elsie Stava. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
