Bio

Sister Rosalia Roessler, 0.P., 87, entered eternal life on August 31, 1983 at St. Dominic Villa in Houston, Texas. Rosary was recited at 4 p.m. on Sept. 1 in St. Dominic Villa Chapel with Vesper services at 7:30 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial was held at 10 a.m., Sept. 2, in Warren Chapel in Houston with Father George Rabroker and Father Joseph Angers serving as co-celebrants. Interment followed in the Garden of Gethsemane at Forest Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas, with Earthman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She (Anna) was born on October 31, 1895 to the late Martin and Mary Rabroker Roessler of Westphalia, Texas. She attended school at Lampasas Texas which was taught by the Dominicans, and she entered the Dominican Convent on July 2, 1914. During her 69 years of religious life, Sister Rosalia had served 39 years teaching in dioceses of Galveston, Houston and Beaumont. She retired from teaching in 1961. She is survived by a brother, Michael Roessler of Westphalia and two sisters, Emma Roessler of Westphalia and Clara Jansing of Lott. Sister Rosalia was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Ben, and Martin, Jr. and three sisters, Sister Mary Helen Roessler, her twin, Sister Mary Rosalie Roessler, and Helen Kinyon.
