Jan Wondra was later known as John Vondra when he came to America. He was first married to Marie Svoboda. There are stories in his family that Marie was his second wife, but records show that Marie was his first wife. See the record under photos in this memorial. He married Rozalie Bares after Marie died. He originally settled in Nebraska then moved to Chicago. He was a blacksmith. He carried a side pistol all his life. He was part of the Chicago Riots. He had a police stick that he took away from a policeman during the riots.
