There are truly angels among us and when they smile it fills your heart with warmth and love. On the morning of January 24, 1926, Hollyce Harber Wilmeth was born to Robert and Dora Elizabeth Harber. She grew up in the sunshine of Abilene, TX under the shade of the mosquito trees. She finished high school at Abilene High while living with her Aunt Doris, another angel placed on this earth. Hollyce was working in a drug store when on a typically humid evening she meets her soul mate for life, "Woody" Wilmeth at a summertime gospel meeting. After they were married they traveled to Kerrville, TX for their honeymoon. He took her from the only place she knew to West Texas where he owned a farm. They moved in with his father and four brothers. Later convincing him she would live in a tent if only she could leave, so he built a four walled box, but it was a mansion to her. A little girl growing up only knowing a simple life never dreaming their lives together would lead her to a great adventure where they worked together building a life in a great land of opportunity, allowing them to prosper, traveling around the world seeing all the wonders God made. Her bright and shining spirit went home on October 10, 2011. She is survived by a son, Carl Bryan Wilmeth; two daughters, Carolyn Truss and Kathleen Cowart; a sister, Perry Weir; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estacado Cemetery, located 6 miles East of Idalou, CR 3900, North 5 miles, East 1 mile. A procession to the cemetery will be leaving at 10:15 a.m. from Sanders Funeral Home.
