From the Unita County Herald, July 2013 Lorene Bawden Tervort, mother, grandmother and friend, 85, former longtime Taylorsville, Utah, resident, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from natural causes at her home in Evanston. Lorene was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Granger, Utah, to John Henry Bawden and Katherine (Kate) Warr Bawden. Lorene loved to decorate her home. She believed in and lived her motto, "A clean home is next to Godliness." She enjoyed nature, gardening, shopping, playing cards and traveling. She loved to dress up and go to lunch with her friends. She often expressed how much she loved her children and grandchildren. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, because she was with her family. She met Franklin Tervort later in life, and they were married. They loved to travel with the "Motor Home Gang," and she loved the Tervort family reunions. Lorene retired from E Systems, and then lived her winter months in St. George, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved singing in the Washington Sixth Branch choir, and enjoyed her association with the Relief Society sisters. Lorene was an example of courage. We will miss her keeping us on our toes with her high-spirited points of view. We love you, mom, and we will miss you... She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Boshard Hislop; her husband, Franklin Tervort; and her parents and siblings. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 15, at 12:30 p.m. at the Evanston City Cemetery, 524 County Road. The family will receive friends at a viewing Monday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Almy LDS Ward Chapel, 251 Elm St., in Evanston. Online condolences can be made at www.crandallfhevanston.com.
