Memorial graveside services for James Neal Turman, 74, of Gober, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 in Gober Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Jimmy Green will officiate. James passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham. James was born Aug. 15, 1936 in Gober, Texas, the son of Roy Alton Turman and Cressia Ruth Baker Turman. He attended school in Gober and was a former member of the National Guard and reserves. James was a retired manager at Texas Instruments in Dallas and a member of Gober Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Turman. James is survived by ~ Former spouse and longtime companion, Roberta Turman of McKinney; Son, Kirk Birdwell (Melody) of Honey Grove; Daughter, Dana Akins (Tom) of Denison; Stepdaughter, Tammy Moorman of Little Elm, TX; Sisters, Sybil Crim (Clarence) of Farmersville and Reba Doris Moore (Greg) of San Marcos, TX; Grandson, Landon Akins of Lubbock and Step grandson, Damen Gates of Lewisville, TX The son of Roy Alton Turman and Cressia Ruth Baker Turman. He attended school in Gober and was a former member of the National Guard and reserves. James was a retired manager at Texas Instruments in Dallas, and was a member of Gober Baptist Church. Obituary was published in The Herald Democrat on February 25, 2011
