Warren Times-Mirror, Warren, PA - Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1942 EMERSON F. KIFER Emerson F. Kifer, 100 Mill Street, Sheffield, who was stricken Tuesday morning while at work at the O'Connor Machine Shop at that place, died last evening in the Waren General Hospital. He was born November 13, 1881, at Scotch Hill, Clarion County, and had been a resident of Sheffield for the past 19 years. He was employed as a millhand at the Central Pennsylvania Lumber Mill until its closing. Besides his wife, he leaves the following children; Mrs. Howard Sutton and Glenn Kifer, Warren, Pvt. Raymond Kifer, Smyrna Air Base, Tenn.; Melvin Kifer, Niagara Falls, N. Y.; Pvt. Howard Kifer, air base command at Windsor Locks, Conn.; Norman Kifer, Sheffield; Donald Kifer apprentice seaman at Great Lakes, Ill., training station; Lyla Kifer, at home. Surviving also are eight grandchildren; one siser and one brother, Mrs. Sarah Henry, Sackett, and Harry Kifer, Celoron, N. Y. Removal has been made to the Borden Funeral Home, where friends may call at any time and from where services will be held at a time to be announced later. Rev. Ivan E. Rossell will officiate and burial will be in Sheffield cemetery.
