Died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Houston, TX Wellington Leader, May 30, 1935 Ruby Elizabeth Kesler was born in Pierce, Colorado, September 14, 1914. She spent her first two years of schooling at West Ward in Wellington. From there she went to Kesler four years, to Fresno two years. She finished her last two terms at Dodsonville High School. Ruby played basketball two years at Fresno and one year at Dodsonville. She also played volley ball at Dodsonville. She took part in the junior play last year and has been an active member of the junior and senior classes at Dodsonville. We are very glad to have Ruby finishing her high school work at Dodsonville. Ruby's favorite subjects are home economics and Spanish. Wellington Leader June 13, 1935 On Saturday, June 15, at 8:30, Miss Ruby Kesler became the bride of William Woodrow Byrd at Midway with Rev. W.R. Lawrence officiating in the ceremony. Attendants to the couple were Miss Clara Kesler and Eli Clement. The bride who was dressed in pink organdie with white accessories is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Kesler. She has attended the Fresno and Dodsonville schooles and graduated with the Dodsonville class in 1935. She played on the basketball team at Fresno two years and one year at Dodsonville. Mr. Byrd is the son of Mrs. H.P. Forbis. He attended the Fresno and Dodsonville schools, finishing with the graduating class in Dodsonville in the year of 1933. He played on the basketball team one year at Fresno and two years at Dodsonville. The young couple will make their home in this county where he will farm with his father.
