OBITUARY OF MRS. HENRY PETERS Talka(Tolcke) Catherine Diers, daughter of John and Sofiah Diers(Dires), was born in Hanover, Germany, January 15, 1836 and died at the home of her son Louis in Pleasanton, Nebraska May 21, 1926, age 90 years, 4 months, 6 days. In (March 27)1859 she was united in marriage to Henry Peters of Hanover, Germany and came to America in 1862 settling at Stanton(Staunton), Illinois remaining there seven years. In 1869 they left Illinois coming down the Mississippi River by boat to St. Louis, Missouri and crossed the country settling in Cass County, Nebraska. In 1874 they came to the vicinity of Pleasanton, Nebraska (community was then known as Riverview) having but three settlers in the vicinity as their neighbors. She became the mother of eight sons 3 having preceded her: viz, an infant, Richard and John. The five remaining Fred, of Sargent, Nebraska; Ben, Henry, Louis and William all of Pleasanton, Nebraska. Her companion (Henry) was called to his reward thirteen years ago, she having since made her home among her sons. She is survived by five sons, twenty-six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Her life has always been affiliated with the Lutheran church. She was a lover of God's word and found it a very close companion during her lonely hours. Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the united Brethren church, Rev.
