Bio

Charles J Patek was born in Shiner, TX on January 19, 1920 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Charles Patek served his country in Japan as a soldier in the United States Army. Mr. Patek is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the KJT Catholic Society. Mr. Patek was on the Housing Authority Board for 26 years, and he and his loving wife Viola opened a Drive Inn in 1953 in Seguin at the corner of Walnut and King Streets. He also retired from Civil Service in 1977 where he worked as a Firefighter with Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX, and was a member of the American Legion for 60 years. Mr. Patek is survived by his loving wife, Viola Patek of Seguin; daughter, Delores Abrameit & Fritz of Seguin; son, Leonard Patek & Kathy of Irvin, TX; daughter-in-law, Rose Patek of Seguin; grandchildren, Christopher Patek, Lori Patek, Deborah Durkin, Susan Baum, Angela Kleinschmidt, Shelly Jones, Charity Sheppard, and Wesley Abrameit; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Emily Holub of Houston, Albina Kubenka of Seguin, and Lillian Swisher of Seguin; brothers, Jimmie Patek of Shiner, Louis Patek of Houston, and Ben Patek of Houston. Mr. Patek was preceded in death by two sons, Patrick Patek and Edmund Patek; one grandchild, Gregory Patek; two brothers, Joe Patek and Frank Patek; and by two sisters, Mary Mikes and Lillian Janda.
