GILTNER —Theresa Lynn "Terri" Ray, 52, of Giltner died Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Giltner. A family gathering will be at 12 p.m. Monday at Giltner Community Center. The family requests that everyone attending wear casual or purple attire. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Ray was born Sept. 25, 1960, in Elmhurst, Ill., to Donald and Loretta Fay (Juett) Ballard. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Natasha Ray of Giltner and Andrea Ray of Hastings; a son, Lucky Ray of Giltner; her father, Donald Ballard of Giltner; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sandra Ballard of Giltner and Thomas Ballard of Aurora; a sister, Barbara Ballard, and special friend, Dave, of Perry, Iowa; and fiance, Darrell Dexter, of Giltner. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jayleigh, Gabriel and Ashlyn and a granddaughter on the way; and five nieces and nephews. She grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School in 1978. After high school, she attended the Grand Island Business School. Theresa was united in marriage to Charles Ray in July of 1988. Three children were born to this union. Theresa worked in the restaurant business her entire life and was most recently working at the Giltner Bar and Grill. She was preceded in death by her mother and brother, Rodney Ballard.
