Bio
Funeral services will be held for Donald Simmons, age 78, of Rosepine, Louisiana, at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2004 at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Visitation will be Thursday, October 14, 2004 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until time of service on Friday. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder. Mr. Simmons retired from Exxon Refinery after 35 years of service and also was a U.S. Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Simmons of Rosepine; daughter, Donnene McBride and husband Glen of Highland, Texas; sons, Burn Simmons and wife Nancy of Rosepine, Terrin Simmons and wife Pam of Rosepine; grandchildren, Donny Lynn and Michael Dehoven, Jennifer and Ross Ethridge, Brittany Simmons, Barrett Simmons, Blake Simmons and Caleb Simmons; great-grandchildren, Michaelle and Morgan McBride and Chloe Ethridge; sisters, Marie Hawkins, Louise Johnston, Maurine Moses, Glenda Hunt, Rita Viera and Nina Fodell; brother, George Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Elvin and Juanita Simmons, son, Collin Simmons, and sister, Bearnice Nolde.
