Married Ida Friedericke Schatz on Nov 28, 1895 at the Zionsville Lutheran Church, Washington Co., TX OBITUARY William Grimm Dies Saturday Morning Frederick Wilhelm Hendrick Grimm died Saturday morning, August 12, at the local hospital after a brief illness. Th family had been summoned and all were present when the end came. Funeral services were conducted at the home and at the Trinity Lutheran Chruch Sunday afternoon with Pastor Walter H. Gigstad officiating. Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Grimm was born October 8, 1872, in Wallace, Austin county, Texas. He was baptized April 13, 1873, in Wallace, and confirmed in 1886 in Zionsville, Texas. On the 28th of November 1895, he was united in marriage with Miss Ida Schatz of Zionsville. Seven children were born to this union. In 1901 the family moved to Clifton and settled on a farm about five miles south of town, where Mr. and Mrs. Grimm had lived up to the time of his departure last week. He was a very industrious farmer and never spared his own strength. He had the misfortune, however, of fracturing his hip in October of 1940, and this left him with impaired health. Last June he broke his arm and was just recovering from that when this last illness overtook him. He is survived by his wife, the following children: Alvina (Mrs. Adolph Amundson) of Clifton; Otillie (Mrs. Jake Amundson) of Clifton; Ella (Mrs. L. D. Singley) of ROtan, Texas; Annie (Mrs. Art Singley) of Rotan, Texas; Christian Grimm, Pfc., U.S. Army; William, on the farm home; Alfred Grimm, Clifton. There are also nineteen grandchildren. Mr. Grimm's three brothers and two sisters were also present at the funeral. They are: Charles Grimm of Meridian, Louis Grimm of Brenham, Rudolph Wendt of Brenham, Mrs. Ida Sternburg of Brenham, Mrs. Louise Riechter of Biezley. Pallbearers were Harold Schulz, Arnold Anz, August Roetschke, Jake Seljos, Sanders Jorgenson and Louis Bell. THE CLIFTON RECORD, CLIFTON, TEXAS AUGUST 18, 1844.
