Mrs. Ida Grimm Dies in Hospital Here December 30 Funeral services were held for Mrs. Ida Grimm, aged 91 years, 5 months, and 29 days, of Clifton at 2:30 o'clock on Friday afternoon, January 1, at the the Trinity Luthern Church in this city and services were conducted by Reverend Erwin H. Knitt, pastor of the church and Reverend Walter T. Gigstad, chaplain of the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. Mrs. Grimm who for the past six years had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Amundson, sustained a stroke of paralysis on October 18, at which time she became a patient in the Clifton hospital. She remained criticallhy ill there until her death occurred at 5:00 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, December 30. During the services last Friday afternoon, Miss Peggy Aars served as organist and also accompanied the church choir when it sang "Blessed Jesus" and "Rock of Ages." Pallbearers were six of Mrs. Grimm's grandson, Carl Singley and Fred Singley, of Rotan, Richard Grimm, of Garland, Joe Grimm, of Fort Worth, and Jodie Amundson and Alvin Amundson, of Clifton. Interment followed in the Clifton Cemetery. Born on July 1, 1873, near Burton in Washington County, Mrs. Ida Friedricke Schatz Grimm was the eldest child of the late Ludwig Schatz and Mrs. Ottille Spitzer Schatz. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy at the Zionville Lutheran Church at Washington and was confirmed in girlhood at the same church by Reverend G. Stricher. On November 28, 1895, she was married to Wilhelm Grimm in the Zionville Church. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Grimm farmed near Washington until they moved to Bosque County in 1901. It was at that time th.... to the home of her daughter ... Amundson. Left to survive Mrs Grimm are three sons, Chris C. Grimm ... A. Grimm and Alfred Grimm, of Clifton; four daughters, Mrs. A. G. Amundson (Alvina) and Mrs. J. L. Amundson (Ottilie) of Clifton.
