Christian Heinrich Grimm, born 5, July 1843, In Province of Baden, Germany. Town? Died 8 March 1878, Brenham, Burial at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery at Prairie Hill, Head stone, far end of cemetery by fence. Christian Grimm came to USA in 1853? He filed for his naturalization papers Sept 18, 1871 in Austin County, Texas, but they were never completed. He was in the civil war (Civil War 1861-1865) & was wounded & died from that wound I was told. Not much known about him since he died so young in life. He married Helena Eleonore Wilhelmine Brandt on Jan 2, 1869. Their children were: Karl Frederick Wilhelm Grimm, Henriette Sophia Grimm, Wilhelm Heinrich Fritz Grimm, Ludwig Heinrich Grimm, and Louise Dorathea Grimm. All the children were baptized in St. James Lutheran Church at New Wehdem. Christian died 8 March 1878 Brenham, Washington Co., TX and is buried at St. John Lutheran Church, Prairie Hill Cemetery, Brenham, Washington Co., TX. His grave is the oldest in the cemetery. After his death, Helena remarried to Joseph B. Windt on 22 October 1878 in St. Johns Church, Prarie Hill, Washington Co., TX. Joe & Helena had two children, Ida Maria Doretha Windt & Rudolph Friedricke Windt.
