Ella Sophie Barber, 89, of Cuero passed away Monday, June 10, 2013. She was born November 28, 1923 in DeWitt County to the late Steve and Sophie Hahn Zielonka. Ella married her beloved husband Hubert L. Barber May 3, 1947 in Victoria. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Krupala (Larry) of Cuero; son, Kenneth Barber (Donna) of Mission Valley; sisters, Mary Jo Granz (Raymond) of Shiner and Irene Orsak of Denton; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Hubert "Dickie" Barber; brothers, Edward Zielonka, Alvin Zielonka, Joe Zielonka, Emil Zielonka, and Herbert Zielonka; and sisters, Amelia Parma, Delores Smith, and Corinne Zengerle. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church
