Emil Steve Zilonka (Advocate News Service) YORKTOWN -- Emil Steve Zilonka, 56, of Yorktown, died Monday at his home. A rancher, he was born December 22, 1927, in Westhoff, to Steve and Sophie Hahn Zilonka. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Yorktown. Burial will follow in the Mission Valley Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Joyce DeDear Zilonka of Yorktown; five daughters, Mrs. David Lassmann and Mrs. Tim Kahanek, both of Yorktown, Ann Zilonka of Cuero, Shelly D. Zilonka of Yorktown, and D'ree Zilonka of Victoria; a son, Alvin L. Zilonka of Victoria; six sisters, Emilia Parma, Irene Orsak and Ella Barber, all of Cuero, Corinne Zengerle of Freeport, Delores Smith of Goliad, and Mary Jo Granz of Yoakum; a brother, Jack Zilonka of Yorktown; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Edward, Alvin, and Joe Zilonka. Pallbearers will be Jerry Parma, Arlan Parma, Dennis Zengerle, Larry Zilonka, Gregory Granz, and Kenny Barber. Honory pallbearers will be his 28 nephews.
