Colfax County Call (Schuyler, Nebr.), February 19, 1953, p. 8, col. 6 LAST RITES FOR F. L. VOTAVA TO BE TODAY Funeral services for Frank L. Votava, 75, are being held this morning. A short prayer service will be at 8:30 at the Bideaux Mortuary and the requiem mass at St. Mary’s church followed with Rev. V. E. Herman celebrant. Interment was made in the Sts. Peter and Paul’s cemetery at Abie. Pallbearers were the Messrs. Jerry and Leonard Viglicky, Emil and Albin Chihacek, Jose. Kment and Ernest Pernicek. The deceased, son of Joseph and Antonia Kalenda Votava, was born on a farm in Butler county near Edholm. There, he lived his entire live, until his retirement about four years ago, when he moved to Schuyler. He held a life membership in the Knights of Columbus Council at David City. Mr. Votava never married. He is survived by one brother, Jos. T. Votava, U. S. District Attorney of Omaha; four sisters, Mesdames John (Eva) Cihacek of North Bend, Anton (Frances) Viglicky, Julius (Bessie) Kuzel and John C. (Emma) Vitek, all of Schuyler. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Relatives and friends recited the Rosary at the mortuary Wednesday evening.
