Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, October 7, 1965, Page 1, Column 5 Native of Comstock Frank Volf, 80, Dies After Long Illness Funeral services for Frank Volf, 80 year old retired farmer were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Hastings Pearson Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Gorak officiating. Mr. Volf died Saturday Oct. 2, 1965, following a lingering illness. He had been bed fast the past two years. Survivors include his wife of Ord, one son, Edwin of Burwell, five daughters, Mrs. Emma Hulinsky, Mrs. Lillian Setlik, Mrs. Dorothy Setlik, all of Ord, Mrs. Alice Hulinsky and Mrs. Lucille Vampola, both of Gering, two brothers, John of Ord and Louis of Comstock; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Parkos of Ord, Mrs. Anna Davis, Mrs. Emma Guthel and Mrs. Agnes Mellinger, all of California; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twins, five brothers and one sister. Interment was in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Frank Albert Volf was born near Comstock, April 10, 1835, to Frank and Anna Novak Volf. He was married to Agnes Bruha at Ord on June 19, 1919. His entire life was lived in the Comstock and Ord vicinities, until 1950 when he retired and moved to Ord.
