Bio
Daughter of John White and Hulda Congo.In 1883 she gave birth to a son John Shafer. In 1884 she married my dad's great uncle, Mai Baker. The 1900 federal census shows she and Mai being married 16 years with her son,John Shafer, living with them. The same census shows her having given birth to 9 children with 7 of them still living. I found that she and Mai had moved from Delta County Texas and lived in Nolan County Texas for a while. After Uncle Mai died in Nolan County she moved back to her former home county,Delta, near Cooper,Texas, and near many family members. According to her death certificate she had lived in the same place in Delta County for 8 years.All indications are she was living with her daughter Katherine (Mrs.L.L.Hannah) who was the informant on her death certificate.
