Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Mar. 27, 1980 Marrou Services Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the St. James Catholic church for Mrs. Sophie Rosalie Marrou, who died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday in the Woodland Hills Nursing Home in San Antonio. The Rev. Edward Bily, Pastor, will officiate at the rites with burial in the St. James Catholic cemetery. Arrangements are by Seydler-Hill funeral home where a rosar service will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. Mrs. Marrou was born in Gonzales county on February 13, 1895, the daughter of August and Martha Pogorzelski Gatzke, natives respectively of Germany and Poland. She was married to Florian Marrou on September 16, 1914, and he preceded her in death on August 30, 1961. She was a resident of San Antonio, a former resident of Gonzales, and a member of St. James Catholic church. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. H. A. (Helen) Cady of San Antonio, Mrs. R. G. (Dorothy) Lester of Odessa; two sons, George of San Antonio and Willie A. Marrou of Beaumount; 14 grandchildren. 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Gatzke of Gonzales. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Pallbearers will be James Cady, Tommy Marrou, Dennis Marrou, Paul Kaigler, Don Tullos and Charles Mack.
