Son of Dominigue Marrou & Rosalie Palous Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Sep. 1961 Funeral Services Set Saturday For Mr. Marrou Funeral services will be held Saturday for Florian P. Marrou, who died in the Holmes Memorial hospital Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Marrou had been ill only two hours, entering the hospital only an hour before death occurred, apparently from a heart attack. Requim high mass will be said at 10 a. m. Saturday at the St. James Catholic church with the pastor, the Rev. Peter J. Roebrockes, in charge. It will be preceded by a short service at Baker Funeral chapel at 9:40 a.m., with a rosary service held Thursday night at 8. The Rev. Roebrocks will officiate at all the services with burial to follow in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Marrou was born May 22, 1891, in Seguin, the son of Domineque and Rosalea Polous Marrou, natives of Frances. He was married to Miss Sophie Gatzke, and the couple were making their home at 107 St. Paul Street at the time of his death. A member of the St. James Catholic church and the Holy Name Society, he is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Heywood A. (Helen) Cady, San Antonio; Mrs. R. G. (Dorothy) Lester, Carrizo Springs; and two sons, Willie Marrou of San Antonio. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Vernon Brzozowski John Garvel Louis Scherlen, Leopold Fortune, John Kalinec, and Frank Marrou.
