Grand Island Daily Independent Friday 18 Oct 1957, p. 3 Pioneer of City Dies A pioneer resident of Grand Island, Mrs. H. T. Jul. Fuehrmann, 87, died Thursday in Brooklyn, N. Y., according to information received today by her sister, Mrs. John Meves. she had suffered a heart attack. Services will be held at 10 a. m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery Brooklyn. Mrs. Fuehrmann was born in Grand Island To Mr. and Mrs. Henry Joehnck, who were among the original settlers of the community. She had moved away about 60 years ago. Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Meves; and a brother, Detlaf Joehnck, rocky ford, Colo; a daughter, Mrs. Julia Stratmann, Brooklyn; a brother-in-law, Louis Thuernagle, Grand Island; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son who died at sea, five brothers and three sisters. ∼ September 19, 1885, he was married to Miss Dora Joehnck, a daughter of Henry Joehnck. Two children: Julia and Gustav.
