Year of birth estimated from age at death. ================================ Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Wednesday, 5 March 1919 Relatives in this city received the sad news recently of the death of Mr. William Joehnck, which occurred last Saturday at his home in Los Angeles, Cal., after an illness of three and a half years from cancer trouble. Mr. Joehnck was very well known in this city, being the oldest son of Henry Joehnck, Sr., one of Hall county's pioneer settlers, and resided here up to seven or eight years ago, when he moved to California, where the family has since resided. He was 59 years of age. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Edward, his father, Mr. Henry Joehnck, Sr., five brothers and four sisters, they being: Mrs. Louis Thuernagle, and Mrs. John Meves, of this city; Mrs. Julius Fuehrman, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. Carl Englander, of Omaha; Detlef L. Joehnck, of Rockford, Colo.; Chris, of Chensaning, Mich.; Fred, of Oxnard, Cal.; Charles, and Henry, Jr. Word as to whether of not the remains will be brought to this city for burial is expected by the relatives, the deceased having expressed the desire to be buried here. Announcement of the funeral, if such is received, will be made later.
