Bio

L.E. Bearden Jr., 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 2, 2013. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Entombment: Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. L.E. was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Waxahachie to Luther and Hettie Bearden. He served as a lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the retired president of McCurdy Oil Company. L.E. was a member of Ridglea Country Club, an avid golfer and a charter member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Pauline "Polly" Bearden; son, Ronnie Bearden; four brothers; and two sisters. Survivors: Daughter, Diane Harvey and husband, Dr. Paul Harvey; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Published in Star-Telegram on May 5, 2013
