Herald Coaster, May 3, 1996: Funeral services for Vera Mae Schonert Gray, 54, of Needville, will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at the Needville United Methodist Church in Needville, with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. The Reverend David Foster will officiate the services. She was born on August 23, 1941 in Richmond, and she passed away on May 2, 1996 in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Antone Schonert. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Billy Gray of Needville; her mother, Elsie Schonert Jine and her husband, James, of Needville; a daughter, Cindy Gray Fink and her husband, David, of Buda; sons, Kirk Gray and his wife, Tina, of New Burg, Pennsylvania, Bryce Gray and his wife, Melissa, of Buda, and Donald Gray and his wife, Lisa, of Damon; sisters, Virginia Lathem and her husband, Kenneth, of Sugar Land and Laverne Davis and her husband, James, of Rosenberg; five grandchildren, Nicole and Kayla Fink, Chancellor and Lee Gray, and Chelsea Gray; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Needville Methodist Church Building Fund. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Davis Funeral Chapel, 9302 Church Street in Needville (telephone 409-793-6141). Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
