Johnny L. Johnston, 45, of Grand Island died Friday, April 5, 2013, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery. Mr. Johnston was born April 11, 1967, in Grand Island to Floyd L. Sr. and Bethel (Dunham) Johnston. Survivors of the immediate family include his sister, Joni Johnston of St. Paul; half brothers, Allen Johnston and Lavern Johnston, both of Lincoln, and Jim (Lois) Dunham of Grand Island; and half sisters, Linda (Darrell) Johnson of Grand Island and Sheila (Bob) Spitz of Arizona. He is also survived by two nieces, Jessica Aden and Sarah Onnen; several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his special four-legged companion, Jasmine. He was preceded in death by his parents. Johnny grew up and attended school in Grand Island, graduating from Northwest High School, Class of 1985. He was employed in maintenance for many years. He was a Nascar fan and enjoyed watching professional boxing and playing Play Station with his friends. Proud and stubborn to a fault, he was always willing to put others ahead of himself.
